As if I’d Fallen in Its Waves
As I was back to my country crossing the bridge
The Jialing River bathing in sun rising always
I would think of you by leaning on its railings
As if I’d fallen in its waves in one thousand years
If I did not cross it I’d see you every day
I’d touch your smile, your lady killer eyes
I thought I’d rather touch your eyes forever
You may not know the bridge I suffered so
In that year I must pass the ancient bridge
As soon as possible, for if I did not cross it
I was quite sure I would drop into the river
And disappear without any echoes forever
The bridge has been damaging almost for 20 years
Where is your charming eyes, the bridge knows

每次回故乡，穿过这古桥
嘉陵江沐浴，初升的太阳
斜倚栏杆，我总会想起你
仿若跌入你的浪涛已千年
不过这桥，会天天见到你
触到你的笑容，心醉的眼
我想我会永远触着你的眼
你不知这桥，我饱尝泪水
那年，我必须跨过这古桥
越快越好，如果不过这桥
我深信，我定然深陷江涛
消失，永远没有任何回响
20年来，这桥遭受着毁损
哪有你迷人的眼，桥知道？

黄昏，青石的街巷，
油纸伞，小碎步……
现在，他就坐在中国的，Starbucks
手里捧着一个小小的咖啡杯
旗袍女人迈着细碎的步子
扭着水蛇的腰肢
从咖啡的香味里缓步走来
啊，我幻想半个世纪的女神！
突然，身后一阵女孩爽朗的笑声
惊碎了，旗袍女人细碎的脚步
乳白色的餐桌上，咖啡飞溅……
哦，这是21世纪中国的，星巴克
哪里还寻得旗袍女人细碎的步子？！

He, an Italian linguist
Knows six foreign languages, white hair
Habitually, holding a pipe
On a half of a century
In Zhang Ailing’s novels
He’s been daydreaming the mysterious oriental cheongsam woman:
In dusk, the streets of bluestone,
Oil paper umbrella, tiny steps…
Now, he is sitting in Starbucks of China
And holding a small coffee cup in his hands
The cheongsam woman taking tiny steps
Twisting her water snake waist
Slowly stepping from the scent of coffee
Ah, about the goddess I’ve been fantasizing on a half of century!
Suddenly, a burst of girl’s hearty laughter behind him
Broke, the cheongsam woman’s tiny steps
On milky white table, coffee splashing…
Oh, this is the Starbucks of China in 21st century
Where I can find the tiny steps of cheongsam woman? !

ABOUT Sophy Chen
Sophy Chen, her name, Lihua and family name, Chen, born in Lueyang, Hanzhong, Shannxi Provinve, China, is the Chinese contemporary poet, translator, and American English “Legendary Poet”. She graduated from English Institute of Xi’an Foreign Studies University in English Literature. She is the founder of “Sophy Poetry & Translation Website”, “Sophy Poetry & Translation”(C-E) Magazine and “Sophy International Translation Publishing House” and the founder and leading lecturer of “Sophy English Forum”. She began to write Chinese poetry in 1989 and English poetry in 2004, and translate Chinese Poetry into English poetry and English poetry into Chinese poetry in 2005. She won the annual “International Best Translator” Award 2012(C-E), the Chinese Contemporary Poetry (2013-2014) Translation Award(C-E), PENTASI B WORLD FEATURED POET 2018(E-E) and PENTASI B WORLD INSPIRATIONAL POET 2018(E-E).
She translated and published six Chinese poetry collections into English, The Flower Swaying (2014), The Tibetan Incense(2014), The Outlook of Life (2014), The Different Tunes (2014), The Body Forward (2015), and A Poetry Biography for White Snake (2015). She published an English poetry collection, Sophy English Sonnets, Tuberose (2018). She eidited and translated “Sophy Poetry & Translation” (C-E) Magazine. Sophy Chen is the Host-Organizer & Sponsor of CHINA WORLD POETREE FESTIVAL 2019, PENTASI B World Fellowship, Mainland China, 2019.

苏菲（Sophy Chen），本名陈丽华，中国当代诗人、翻译家。美国英语“传奇诗人”。生于陕西汉中略阳；毕业于西安外国语大学英文学院。“苏菲诗歌&翻译网”、“苏菲诗歌&翻译”(英汉双语）杂志社、“苏菲国际翻译出版社”创建人。“苏菲英语讲坛”创办者兼主讲人。 1989年开始汉语诗歌写作、2004年开始英语诗歌写作、2005年开始英汉双语诗歌翻译。 获2012年度“国际最佳翻译家奖”（评选语言英汉双语）。“中国当代诗歌奖”（2013—2014）翻译奖（评选语言英汉双语）。获PENTASI B世界杰出诗人奖2018（评选语言英语）。PENTASI B 世界精神诗人奖2018（评选语言英语）。
翻译出版英译诗歌集六部：《花动摇》、《藏香》、《生之瞭望》、《异调》、《胴体向前》、《白娘子诗传》。 出版英语诗歌原创集，“苏菲英语十四行诗”《晚香玉》（2018）。主编主译“苏菲诗歌&翻译”(英汉双语）杂志。苏菲是“中国•世界诗歌节2019”, PENTASI B世界联谊会，中国大陆2019授权主办方、组织人和赞助人。
