Sophy Chen’s 4 poems

In These Three Days, I Don’t Want to Do Anything
— When a person cannot be found, you’ll find how wonderful the past life together was
By Sophy Chen

In these three days, I don’t want to do anything
I only want to lie in your heatable brick bed
I don’t want to read English
In the morning
I only want to lie in your heat-able brick bed, and look at you making
Chinese pollen tea, no sugar, a cup by a cup, you drink, I drink
Putting more coal!
Mindless of the nice snowflakes outside the cave dwelling
In these three days,
I don’t want to write poems
I only want to lie in your heat-able brick bed, and look at you cooking, morning,
The sweet millet porridge for me, with a small plate of self-made pickled vegetable,
Noon, buckwheat noodles, night, mutton soup …
Putting coal again!
Mindless of thick snow and strong wind outside the cave dwelling
In these three days,
I don’t want to translate poems
I only want to lie in your heat-able brick bed, and to listen to you tell your love story
Or from time to time, I just boast out
What I have done in English language
Putting more coal again!
Mindless of the heavy snow sealed mountains and blocked the road ahead outside
In these three days,
I really don’t want to do anything
I even don’t want to teach English, open my computer,
Phone calls, and read short massages in Weibo, or Weixin
Just let the heavy snow sealed mountains and cut down anything which can touch me
One thing that I desperately want to do is to wait and look you cooking delicious food for me —
Morning, pollen tea, the millet porridge, noon, buckwheat noodles, night, mutton soup …

Faced with Terrorism, Poetry Is Nothings’ Nothing

After being online for 24 hours, searching all of the search engines,
Trying all of the key words, in all the entangled web of the internet,
I found not the slightest trace of you.
After being online for 48 hours, like a cat on a hot tin roof,
Again and again, slaving over a steaming pan,
In order to better see you in your true colours, and to let you hear me crying,
I still found not the slightest trace of you.
After being online 72 hours, I, like a moth to a flame,
Again and again, trying to go beyond the illusory screen images
In order to show off my best dancing in front of you
And to let you see my final moment as I crash and burn.
I’ve searched the whole earth, following your clues
And from the labyrinthine depths of the internet,
I got a glimpse of your few, brief words —
Faced with terrorism, poetry is pale and powerless,
Faced with terrorism, poetry is nothing,
I’ve searched the whole universe, researching your origin and your end,
And at its extent, I got a glimpse of the original code you left behind —
Faced with terrorism, poetry is powerless’ powerlessness,
Faced with terrorism, poetry is nothings’ nothingness.

Tuberose

As I was young my mom planted some flowers
In front of our old wooden house in springs
In my memory they were peony, China rose…
But what I loved the most was the tuberose

In summer night it’s a nice time to me
You could sit in yard to listen the night birds
Singing on cliffs, insects singing in bushes
And look at the moon moving in night skies

However, while your heart was beating at pace
With insects singing and in the sudden
From nowhere floating the rays of fragrance
In the moon a bunch of tuberose blossoms

As these flowers always bloom in moon nights
Your great poem may be living in its fragrance

Mother Tongue Complex
(An Impression of the Polish Poet Adam Zagajewski)

In the International Poetry Award site
It rains cats and dogs outside
Before going up on the stage to accept his prize, he always
Straightens his clothes and sits properly with a serious look
Readers line up waiting for his signature

They are craning their necks to look at him to sign
Putting pen to paper with a line, in silence
It seems unable to see a trace of his expression changes
You can feel his
Philosopher’s unique qualities

“Nice to meet you Sir!
Could you sign …?”
I opened the title page of the poetry anthology forward
He, bewildered, after his translator
Gave him a sign, quickly swipes
His pen to sign his name in Polish
Then, silence

In an hour-long Polish rewarding speech
He speaks earnestly, but
We look at him deaf, until into our eardrums
Finally is poured a lingua franca:
“Ladies and Gentlemen”
Beautiful tone, natural, gratifying

In the poem reading part, he seems to feel
The daze and helplessness of the audience and then he is forced to squeeze out
A large section of fluent English opening remarks…

“Nice to meet you Sir!
Could you sign…? ”

“Ladies and Gentlemen”

[Zhejiang,China]Dazang  3 poems

The Bird Nest

By climbing the train’s window, she is taking the pictures of the scenery outside
The faster the train goes, the more the scenery is swept to the wilderness
What flashed in front of the camera, is that she often can not grasp
For example, as a tall poplar tree by a tall poplar tree is leaping to the windows
It speeds up her heartbeat, but not hit her mind
This appears to be a competitive game by eyes and hands with the time and the space
Generally, as the bird nest just appears in an illusion in the most distant horizon
She has inadvertently slacked it, to be
A curve flying from the front corner of the window to the back corner of the window
If at this time, just a bird chasing the train
As an angel flying with wind, soared to the skies in dance
She would luckily capture a moment of its tripping dance
Well its more beautiful moment, has disappeared in the endless vast

Written on 15th,Jan 2014,during the Spring Festival on the train from Zhejiang to Xi’an

Love Is the World’s Land and Water

From the deep cave, you traced back to the aroma of rotted leaves
You keep the deadwood’s promises, and don’t fall into desolation
You believe the river drying up, but its heart going back to the sea
Nectar from the highest reward of flowers’ love
You witnessed butterflies lighting up wings to light the sky
You witnessed your vicissitudes, magnificence and brightness
When your heart is soft, from the wilderness a grass will go to solemnity and quietness
A ray of moonlight will make the sky very distant
Well, you will pass through the fish’s eyes shining with panic
And swim across the river with its plants waning
You believe the river running wildly and its heart going back to the sea
Love is the world’s land and water even up it’s been dried
When you’ve reaped big, we have to appreciate all things

Translated by Sophy Chen

I’ve Never Wanted to Possess You

—The Elegy of the Lyre No. 6

I’ve never wanted to possess you, a piece of exquisite artifact
You’re only suitable for pouring into my enamored soul
But not for being profaned; in front of you
I just want to be your reachable things

Or a sleepy cell hides
In your glory, let me hear for you
And make you forget your overturning pain; if those are not enough
Let me ran to call for you on your weak boundary …

To reject me just likes to reject a medieval myth
It’s unforgettable but hard to keep in habitual silence
As the year passing away, the understatement has gradually stopped

In blank of life, none of a figure
Would be close to you — my wandering soul
Inadvertently resides in your romantic themes that yet needs to be filled

The High Mountains Dream To Bow To You

A long journey shrouded in wisps of smoke and dust
Turns into a heart with surging waves as the sunrise and the sunset
I want to see your valleys, high mountains, all living creatures and forests as sea waves
I want to see how your winter flowers bloom from your door of firewood
I want to see how your endless outline melt quietly with purple light
My flower fragrance has been exhausted and can not be recycled anymore
My song voice is hoarse and can’t be heard nicely anymore
Will you pick a bunch of, a bunch of, small and small wildflowers
Spreading a little bit, a little bit, to the jungle I want to cross
Will you pick a bunch of, a bunch of small sunlight
Spreading a drop by a drop on the wild path I am going to pursue
I will try my best to blow the beautiful and fragrant sound of the reed
Telling you the news that I have come to see you in your territory

Waiting for star light calmly in the days of dark, clear, and cold night
I won’t lose the long-sighted wings that you once gave me
I won’t stop pursuing the true meaning of the soul either
A cloud flower calculates our distance with a longing and a step
I want my love, my drawing and my writing blossom for you
Just because you live deeply in the distance and touched me with your glory
Touched my wide eyes that are hard to settle and longing for the glory
My empty heart is opening slowly and opening slowly
By a dream, I ignited the shadow of a red candle to worship you
From the mossy pier I prayed for transition to your heart
That was the happiest moment of my life
It is enough for me to write for the past one after another
It is enough for me to blossom for the future and crawl to the ground tightly
In these high mountains my dreams bow to you
By your skylight it illuminates the bleak journey from head to toes as bright as water

Let My Heart Smell Your Scent Of Flowers

You paint the sky in innocent colors
You look after the heart with bright and sparkling eyes
You ask for friendship by the kind, beautiful and crystal clear verses
Your world is always to give drops of scented flowers everywhere as spring rain
Your world is always so pure,so kind and so clear as autumn
Your grace is sometimes hazy with invisible tears
Your season is sometimes covered with raindrops and sunshine
Oh, your sky is still such blue as washed strings

You are my love touching me like a shallow breeze
You are my blossoming clouds and a touch of moonlight
When I am tired, when I am sad, when I am disheartened
You will sneak in room from the pane and paint on my pillow
You will sneak to asleep on my chest
You will sneak into my eyebrows and integrate into my soul
Gently pick up the lost lamb
Oh, hold a long reed flute and blow the kindness in the reed

You are full of flowers in the depths of my rolling memories
That is the location of all stars going home in night
It is a source of sunshine and vitality
I feel your atmosphere every time when I stay quietly at deep night
I feel your cold and warm time of of night
I feel you sprinkle over the trees like morning sun
Let the row of heart-shaped bamboo fences hang over the green leaves of summer
Oh, let the harp fluctuate with a beautiful heart sound and exude sandalwood

My love lurks in the calm, mysterious and warm taste
My love, along with my pain, is hidden in my heart and in my lust
My love always lives in my mind, my words, and my heart
It’s like a group of flowers blooming in fragrance
Let my heart forever face to the place with blooming flowers
Let my heart forever fall in the palm of the roses
My heart is in the far sky in the flashing place of the stars
Oh, let me come
Let me come to your side and take a rest to smell your scent of flowers

To Contribute A Cloud Of Mountain Flowers To You

In the time of a little confused in fog of early winter
Slowly approach to you, silently I am alone
Slowly find and enjoy your dawn, your sun and your mystery
So many clouds linger on your forehead and hairline
So many winter sun still leave in the crevices of leaves
So many people are not afraid of cold and loneliness
So many people are not afraid of the unknown and distant roads
Worship you carry a natural aura away from the mortal world
You are a preacher who preaches the mission of saving souls
Saving every lost or proud person
You make a beautiful melody by the sound of a hundred worms and birds
Let the heart of thousands of worlds instantly become white emptiness
The life that your hand touches is so lush
Your heart is wide open with warm arms
In your warm home in your warm greetings of flowers and plants
People listen calmly and peacefully to your wonderful voice
Just because your heart is so gentle and vast
Just because you as Holy Virgin are kindly caring about all beings

I want to be one of your countless innocent children
Just like the honeysuckle flowers once again blossom fully and hide secretly in the forest
Let its fragrance flow quietly with the beauty of dreams
Layer by layer floating around you
Like a piece of red leaf with my taste
Bring my will and bright heart
Flying into a drop of crystal clear dew with the wind
And one by one, falling on the edge of your moss covered window arris
Kiss your white clouds curtain and kiss your rosy cheeks
Like a slender, slender, clear, and transparent stream
Happily flowing through your home and your wormwood
Flowing through your lotus pond, your flower shrubs and your collar
Kisses your feet and waves of your eyebrows
Like a colorful flying cloud flowers floating in the twilight of the sky
Spreading the egret’s wings through the mist by the river
Flying over thousands of miles and floating in the shadow of your heart
Maybe you know nothing that I have removed all of my attire
To come to your holy temple to offer you a little cloud of mountain flowers

[Shandong,China] Wang Honglei  2 Prose Poems

Flower Path

Is this a morning full of flowers, or an afternoon not disturbed by some one? As if every moving moment forgotten in the long memory, just gets together and blooms. If this is true, I would my fate rather rough and bumpy than this path.
Through the flowers, I think the roots that have been suppressed in the soil must be filled with   blooming ideas. Every blooming flower is an expression of desire, so enjoyable, so thorough! All the wishes of grassroots are bravely standing on the hillside.
What kind of strength is the tender roots against the solidity of the soil? Just as how the root of thought is wedged into the inferiority of human nature.
I seem to be able to hear the stubborn roots’ breathing which are breaking the ground from the flowery underground. In the end, each root conquered the earth with a curved tolerance and lingering persistence. If the roots died and the mind stopped, the soil is just mud.
Therefore, I dare not indulge in this amazing moment, and I am more worried about the origin of this road, a channel carrying a lust or dream. This road was originally the soul of some other flowers, as well as the bones of thoughts that once extended day and night.
Why is the more humbler, the more you know how to be quiet? Quietly flowering, calmly withered, And helplessly stepped on, even the little butterfly flies over silently.
Let’s have a rain and see if there are any undead grass roots on this road.

Puddles of Water

Ordinary. It is already extravagant to use this adjective with a puddles of water.
Who will care about the existence and disappearance of a puddles of water? Even if it wants to flow, and wants to wind up the waves.
Dragonfly took a bit of water, and flied away without a word of thanks to it. The truck rushed past, with the mud splashing, and it was only able to heal itself silently, and it was difficult to flow back to the heart.
It precipitates, clarifies, and calms. The sky is bright, and puddles of water, shining with dazzling light, makes the dark corners more darker.
It is waiting for death, waiting for the earth to wipe itself as a drop of sparkling tears.
It falls from the sky, and then it is taken back by the sky.
Loneliness. Look at the blue sky and white clouds, look at itself shrinking in a circle, sparkling to dry, and shining to death, until it becomes a star.
Destiny, this topic is too big. In life experience, the sea has been a hard place to return. Have a storm to save itself? No way! Those rivers are too dirty.
It has gone. But just leave this world a layer of dust.

Be Moved

In the rain and fog of dusk
Two birds are singing love songs on the treetops
This is the only language I can feel at the moment
The sky is no longer far away
Well the earth is blurring a lot
A rainstorm forced the musty smell back to my body again
On the winding road with small pebbles
Only I faced a huge gardenia to talking about my feeling
As if the world is mine
The fragrant incense of gardenia is also blooming for me
And also its composition of a picture on a whole tree
Has a tragic color
So I’m moved by its beauty

Sigh

Father is a sigh of going far away
The sky propped up by three-years night school
Is half bright and half dark
When you were young, you leaned against the eaves of other towns
Looking at the distance
Later, you settled down in the distance
One foot in the city
One foot in the country
In my dreams again and again
You just sigh with your shadow squating at the corner of the house
Frowning
Taking a cigarette
That sigh, is so long
Until you sent your five daughters out of the house
I knew
How resounding sound of Beijing opera fiddle that you played is
The soft white yarn dress you made for me
So soft
The sky is finally unable to bear
To have a sigh heavily
To make a final review
For your short and long life of sixty years

Basha Tribe

They greet you
No firecrackers, no applause
No flowers, no singing
No wine, only by a shotgun
To fire to sky, to show warmth

Over a mountain
Meeting another mountain again
The holy trees full of hills will bless you
Don’t ask about their age
How old you are, how old the trees are
And the older generation, and the ancestors’ previous generation
All turned into trees to guard you

The man here shaves his head with a sickle
15-year-old adult ritual just likes a living fossil
With a bun, wearing a cigarette bag
Holding a firelock, and holding the soul of the Basha People
He will choose a night with no moon in strong winds
To meet his bride
That Xiu Niang who lives in the clouds
Will illuminate his night road so bright

The Surface of Mirror

No one plays with me, so I caress an oil lamp, and I said: Hello!
doctor Li Shizhen, thank you to see me in the middle of the night

I have a contradictory and ridiculous testimony to narrate the cause of my disease
You have a hat, like a famous doctor in ancient times
This is enough, this is enough

This made me have to tell the truth tonight:

I need someone to take care of me, wearing a high Li Shizhen’s hat

Translated by Sophy Chen

Middle Man

I am talking to two prisoners
I just try to be true, almost true, and absolutely true
I am right

I am almost that wall between
Their dialogue

Translated by Sophy Chen

Toy Room

Two toys, sitting at the door
Play with each other

I immediately went back
This is not my home, my bedroom
Not my living room
Not the technique of writing taking a rest at the period

I have to go, go awey
Modestly, and more carefully
I shouldn’t push the door into, like this
—toy room
On tiptoe, bow back, look at the cat
I am really a fucking nuisance
Who always accidentally break into the quiet world
Who always accidentally see the game behind the door of others

In fact, the play of the toy is just a moment

Translated by Sophy Chen

To Be A Paper Man

The paper man was crying, and it was false that it did not cry that day
It shrinks, becomes a group, and licks the stomach
It wants a bamboo stick
To make it stretch
In the sky, “the paper man look like a sparrow hawk!”

The paper man, a candle through its heart
No bones

It is convenient to fold up

Convenient to destroy itself in a thin state

Take your smoke, worship the grave of the dead, and sing the song on the dead branches
